There has been a huge rise in the online business arena with online food ordering and delivering business model becoming one of the most prominent business ideas. The overall idea behind launching an online food ordering and delivery website is to bridge the gap between restaurants and consumers. The most feasible way to achieve that is use a turnkey solution like Yo!Yumm. It includes features like responsive design, restaurant review system, customizability, and SEO friendliness. Saw you website. Its like what Foodpanda and Zomato already doing for last so many years and are the leaders in this segment. Inspite of being present in 23 countries and for last 6 years,it is now that Zomato has started approaching the path of profitability. Apart from these two, there are internet kitchen (Fassos, Swiggy) that take care of the conformity aspect which is one of the most crucial aspect in food industry. How would you give a head on to these super funded giants?
- Hi Shaurya, thanks for your thoughts but I want to clarify you to that YoYumm is food delivery platform to launch similar website like Food Panda and Zomato. So YoYumm is not competitor of Food Panda and YoYumm, basically its a online platform to start a similar portal like the giants you are talking about.

Hi Ranjana, thanks for your insights. But I want to clarify you to that YoYumm is food delivery platform to launch similar website like Food Panda and Zomato. Its like if you want to start a site like flipkart or amazon, shopify, yokart are the platforms. So YoYumm is not competitor of Food Panda and YoYumm, basically its a online platform to start a similar portal like Food Panda, Just Eat.
Rest I believe when we start any online business, first thing that we have to give priority to build the user base, thinking about profit in initial phase is not seems good strategy.
Agree with shaurya. You are entring a market where there are incumbents already present and moreover it in itself is not a profitable business.
On an average delivery cost for an order are 50/-. Suppose you start with one area and employe 3/4 delivery boys (15,000×4=60,000) + conveyance cost of say 40,000 + overhead charges approx more than 1lakh cost.
Supposedly you wont charge customers. And restaurants can share upto 15% of sales, taking an average order of Rds 500, you make Rs 75 per order meaning you need to make at least 1500 orders per month from 1 locality.
And as you go on expanding your cost will also increase since you cannot use ur noida employees to deliver a packet in say gurgaon.
That was just my point of view you may certainly disagree or might have good solution for it.
All the best!
